A full day seminar for Pastors, Elders, Ministry Trainees and other Gospel Workers.

There will be 4 sessions lasting an hour and a half each:

Session 1: What the Gospel is and What it isn’t! (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
There is incredible confusion in churches and among Christians generally as to what the gospel is, so we will spend some time on teasing out how a range of secondary issues have displaced the gospel, and how outworkings of the gospel are confused with the apostolic kerygma itself.

Session 2: First Things First: Sorting out our Priorities (1 Corinthians 9:16-23)
If we are wholly committed to announcing the gospel – and this is a must if we are not to lose it, then certain priorities will follow. As a result we can then determine what are secondary issues, and how flexible we may be in relation to them.

Session 3: The Marks of a Gospel-Centred Church (Colossians 1:1-23)
If it is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by which churches are planted, then it is also by the same gospel that they stand and grow. What are the marks of a gospel centred church in the New Testament, and how do our churches measure up by this yardstick?

Session 4: Gospel Driven Pastoral Care (Hebrews 3)
The author of the Letter to the Hebrews provides a magnificent example of gospel-driven pastoral and theological care which mirrors God’s own care of his people. This model also shows us how members of Christian congregations ought to relate to one another as they encourage fellow believers to persevere in faith and enter God’s heavenly rest.
